Everything falling apart — no phone, no Xbox, no mates, no girlfriend

In the last post, I was explaining how I first met Evan. Yeah… still can’t believe I’m even typing that. Evan.
Straight after he told me his name, he laid it out — what he is. Vampire. Just said it like it was a fact. I was in total shock, obviously. Part of me was thinking I’d lost my mind, and the other part was just staring at him like… nah. No chance.
Then he starts on about how I’m “important” to some plan. A plan they won’t actually explain. And on top of that, Edwin drops this other bombshell — he’s not even really my uncle. Which… I’m not gonna lie, that hit worse. He’s brought me up my whole life. So yeah, I did lose my head a few times. What do you expect?
They gave me basically no specifics. Just rules.
They took my phone. Told me I couldn’t talk to anyone. Said I wasn’t going to work for “a week or so” depending on how I was, and that I had to phone in sick. No seeing my mates. No seeing my girlfriend. And I didn’t get a say in any of it. That part proper wound me up.
Anyway — just so you know where we are timeline-wise — all this was nearly a month ago now.
The next day, I phoned work and said I was really ill. Stomach problems. Because you can drag that out, can’t you. Makes sense why they picked it. Same story with my mates — “doctor’s seen me, it’s contagious, don’t come round.” I hated lying, but I didn’t really have a choice.
And they did come round. Knocked on the door. Tried ringing. But obviously I didn’t have my phone — Edwin had it. So he was texting back like it was me, saying I was still rough. First few days I was just… trying to process the fact that vampires are real. Which sounds stupid even reading it back, but that’s where my head was.
Xbox was gone too, because apparently I might blab to someone on mic. Like… alright then.
Edwin tried to “explain” bits, but it was all vague, saying Evan will explain when he comes. I wasn’t having it. I wanted answers, not riddles.
So after ten days, I finally went back in to work — my apprenticeship. I get there and they send me straight to the manager’s office. He says one of the directors wants a word.
I go in… and they hand me my P45.
Just like that.
They said they couldn’t rely on me, they needed someone who actually turns up. I tried explaining I’d been seriously ill — that if I’d come in I could’ve given it to everyone. Didn’t matter. They started with the “if it happens in the first few months, how often will it happen?” chat. You know how it goes.
So yeah. They let me go.
I was absolutely livid. Like… what am I supposed to do now? No money coming in, no job, no apprenticeship.
I went to the bank, checked the cash machine, saw what I had left. Not loads, but enough. Went Tesco, got a pay-as-you-go phone. Thought at least then I can message people, let them know I’m alive, yeah?
Went home, told Edwin about my apprenticeship. And honestly? He didn’t even seem that bothered. He just goes, “You don’t need it anymore. Evan will give us everything we need. If you need anything, you’ll have it.”
And I’m like… “What about my friends? Going out? My life?”
He just hits me with: “You can’t. Not yet. Just bear with us.”
So that night, I’m in bed, setting the new phone up, putting numbers in, and I hear Edwin coming up the stairs. He doesn’t normally just walk into my room — but he did. Straight in. Sees the phone. Grabs it off me.
That’s when I properly lost it. Like, properly.
And he’s just calm, telling me I can’t have it. They need me “off air”. Off everything. No contact. “Wait till Evan comes.”
And I’m there like — I haven’t even seen Evan since the night it happened. So what am I waiting for?
Anyway… I’d had enough.
Next morning, early, I packed a few bits in my backpack. And yeah — luckily the extension roof is right outside my window. So I climbed out, dropped down, and I ran.
I’ll go into that properly in the next post, because that bit’s… a lot. But the short version is: I got away.
And that’s where I’ve been.
Got back yesterday, early morning— 22 February 2026.
And yeah… it was Evan who brought me back.
How he found me, I honestly don’t know. He didn’t say much, but he did say he’ll be around me more now — because I need to understand what’s going on, and why they’re stopping me seeing people, until I actually get what’s at stake.
So that’s the end of this one.
I’ll be back tomorrow with the next part.
Watch out for IRLs!
